Welcome!
My pronouns are she, her, hers. I’m Black - capital B. The content I create will always reflect my experiences and perspective as a Black woman and mother.
I was raised in Detroit, but I’ve lived in the Washington, DC area for my entire adult life. I’ve reached the age where my adult life has exceeded my youth, and that still feels well . . . surreal. Some days I still feel like I’m 20. My knees and back quickly put me in my place! Throughout my childhood and early adult life, I experienced several stints of homelessness. Simply put, we were poor. My desire to raise my daughter to be a carefree Black girl stems from my experiences of living below and above the poverty line.
On this blog, I share my experiences of managing my own trauma to give my child the life she deserves; while cultivating a life that brings me joy, because I deserve that, too.
I’m a very proud double alumna of Howard University. When I'm not engaging with my online community, I'm managing my law firm or other small businesses, homeschooling my daughter, or dating my husband.
